So when I went to see Mom she gave me an old photo album which had my senior prom and graduation photos in it.

Expect a meme post soon.

Man, people should really go see Moana. It's probably my favorite Disney movie to come out since the renaissance. (I really like Tangled, though. Flynn Rider was the shit.)

Moana is just so good. The music, in part because of everyone's favorite up-an-coming producer Lin-Manuel Miranda, is fucking great. I've also been given the impression that it honestly does a good job of presenting Polynesian culture in a way that Westerners can digest. On both of those points I'd present the song "We Know the Way," which was co-written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa'i, a Samoan musician. The second verse is in English, but the first verse is actually in Tokelauan. Tokelauan is, to my understanding and in very simple terms, an ancient form of Samoan. That's also why it's hard to find good translations of that verse - apparently only ~4,000 people even speak the language anymore. And it's just fucking neat.

And to close of it's mythology-coolness, the deuteragonist who is famously voice by Dwayne Johnson is basically the Polynesian Hercules, and it seems that a lot of what went into his character was true to their stories. Things like him pulling islands out of the sea with his fishhook and the like. It's all pretty neat, so you get that for all of the lore and mythology nerds like me.

And as a movie by itself it's just great. You get 3D characters who actually develop, and a strong female lead that doesn't have a romantic interest. (Which I think was a good thing here, Moana is an awesome character.) Maui and Heihei were also both fantastic comedic relief. Had to keep myself from busting out laughing multiple times both times I saw it.

Basically, I like it. Too much. Been listening to the OST for the last few days, every track is great. Should definitely put it on your watchlists.

Also maybe a movie thread is something to think about. I SHOULD HAVE JUST MADE A MOVIE THREAD OH WELL TOO LATE.

If you've never given QI a shot the newest episode is a good chance, because it's just a compilation of all of the best moments from the latest season so far. Oh man, it's really good.

It doesn't have Stephen Fry as host anymore, sadly, but Sandi Toksvig replaced him. She's fantastic, charming, intelligent, and just as gay as Stephen was. She was probably chosen in part because she seems like a female Stephen. She had a controversial TED Talk about women's rights, but there's still no doubt that she's perfect as QI's host.

On the topic of panel shows, the only other one that I would VERY highly recommend is 8 Our Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

Cats and Countdown are two separate shows. Cats is a comedy panel show which takes data drawn from polls and the like and makes them the topics of discussion. Things like the top 3 most-talked-about topics of the week amongst the British public. (Spoiler alert, it's been the Donald a lot recently.)

Countdown is a serious, intellectual show about puzzles and conundrums. There are numbers rounds where you get 6 smaller random numbers and have to use them by adding, subtracting, etc, to get one large random number. There are also word rounds where they're given 9 random letters and they have to make the largest word possible.

Cats Does Countdown is just the cast of Cats playing Countdown, so you get all of the conundrums and the like (which are fun to try and solve yourself), and you get really, really good humor. Bonus points for Rachel Riley being a god-damn fox and Susie Dent looking fucking amazing for a 52-year-old. I'll link the latest episode below. And ignore the glove song. They usually have a little comedy act on the side each episode, and this one's just happened to be shit. The episode overall was really good.

So, as a Clemson student I have access to the entire Adobe Creative Cloud for free, right? I'm only like 30% posting this to brag.

So my question is, and I don't even think you guys would know, but should I update my Photoshop to CC 17? I'm afraid that it will override my old CS5 cracked license, and then when I graduate they'll take it away. So I guess it's just a question of if these licensees expire. WHAT SHOULD I DO!?

If you still have the original files for the crack you can save that and then safely upgrade for the time being.

I view Photoshop versions much like text book editions. The vast majority of it is the same with only small changes made. Since CC is cloud based, and therefore subscription-based software (eww), I would keep things simple and stick to using CS5. There's nothing that really calls out to me in upgrading except for maybe 3D printing support. http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/versions.html
