New campaign?

New campaign?

Postby Clow » Sun Nov 18, 2018 10:57 pm

I'm not even going to make a lengthy post at the moment. Let's just talk about what we'd be looking at with a new D&D/D20 system game here.
System? Platform? Schedule? Any house rules you really like? Talk about shit. Whatever you can think of, basically.

I'm currently assuming D&D 3.5 for the system and Roll20 for the platform. Tabletop Simulator would be dope but I'm assuming it's going to be way more work to throw together than Roll20. Although maybe not. Also some people might not have Tabletop Simulator. Let me know what everyone thinks about anything you guys can think of and maybe I can start figuring things out and dump them here.

I would throw my vote in for Tabletop Simulator because I love it. I also know that it has its issues and Roll20 is more user friendly.

I would generally assume 3.5 unless we wanted to try something new out.

Once on month on a Saturday would be my suggestion for schedule.

There's so many options, I don't think we can go wrong.

If you want to DM then we can agree to that. I do not mind picking up DM duties, especially for one shots or simultaneous campaigns. I don't want you to feel like you have to. If you have prepared material I would encourage its use.

I'm happy to try and DM. I suppose I'm uniquely equipped among all of us with a bunch of lore and a shiny map that I've made. Although it's not like those are hard to find.

I'll play around with Tabletop Simulator. Be thinking about what setting you'd be happy with, unless you want to leave it up to me.

List of questions for Stefon
1. Do Changeling count as Humans for things that require Human type such as Able Learner Feat and the Chameleon Prestige Class?
2. Does Able Learner at level 1 with Factotum allow all skills to be permanently class skills?
3. Is official Wizards web material allowed?
4. Is Dragon/Dungeon magazine allowed?
5. Is third party material allowed? Example: Book of Erotic Fantasy.
6. Can we start with Resource/Contact/Taint levels?
7. Alternate Class Features?
8. How evil are we allowed to be? Anything off-limits?

Things that we know: (Correct me if I'm wrong)
1. Point buy. 46 to spend starting all at 8, can't go above 18.
2. Players create their cohorts and companions.
3. Level 6 start
4. No multiclass XP penalties
5. XP to be distributed at the end of each session.
6. Level adjustment is allowed.
7. Leadership is allowed.
8. Most races are allowed.
9. Flying is possibly allowed but frowned upon.
