Solo Handle

The server now has a Patreon! Subscribers will be contributing to repairs or maintenance for the servers. As milestones are met, improvements to the servers will be made. The first milestone at $10/mo will be an enhanced DNS account, which means that manually updating every 30 days will be a thing of the past!

If a subscriber pledges at least $3/mo, they get a domain and FTP access for webhosting, remote file storage, or anything else! Since the server already has an account with a DNS host, I will create the domain under the admin account for simplicity's sake. See the spoiler for a list of free domains the account can use. (aserverwith.no-ip.org is an example of a free domain.) The list will be updated if the account gets upgraded.

Apparently when they said they're not going to charge your card at this time they mean they're gonna try charging it right now.

I think it works similarly to how gas station pumps work. They first check to see if the card can be charged for a certain amount before a purchase goes through. The Patreon people revised the system recently, maybe because there was a string of incidents where people pledged money to get rewards (bonus comics, wallpapers, etc) and then pulled their pledge before the card was charged.

Anyway, I'll just give you money in another method but I can do 30/month for server stuff.

Hey Hunter, I am sorry to say that I will not be able to afford the Patreon during the summer, due to not having any income. I will continue in the fall once I am back at school and my job.

I just wanted to update this real quick. I've used the Patreon proceeds to pay for 2 years (!) of DNS service. Huzzah!

I will be doing some hardware maintenance while I'm here and hopefully I'll get the third machine up and running. I'll be redoing the OS on everything but the main server, so hopefully I can get a reliable MC server running again.

Two years!!
