The Cartography Thread

I guess I'll add more bloat to the forums and make a thread just for talking about mapmaking.
I don't have a lot to talk about at the moment, although I'll make a big post talking about my processes (creative and technical) sometime soon. Regardless, I recently decided to just do a from-the-ground-up redraw of my big map of Ideth in Photoshop. This way I can make everything super clean and pretty and edit absolutely anything I want to whenever I want. Want to change a city's name? Bam. Want to change the art style of the mountains or forests? Bam. Here's what I've got so far. First, the linework I've done so far on top of the rough stuff, and then the lines by themselves. BONUS: This is the first time ever Ideth has been complete, with Rutil included.

Also, here's a preview of the brush I'm probably going to use to create an attractive water border. Might try to make the lines thinner.

And, of course, I am thinking of the bigger picture here. Baby steps, though. Baby steps.
