Artist & Album Sharing Game!

Artist & Album Sharing Game!

Postby Forb » Sun May 06, 2012 10:22 pm

Hello, everyone!

I decided we need a thread for a purpose that I often find myself needing a thread for; so here it is: a thread to place that one artist you are really into, or maybe their new album that you can't get enough of and want others to hear.

We can also make a little game out of it!

-Someone must listen within 1 week of posting.

-All listeners must report in the thread.

-An individual may be called out to listen.

Yeah? Let's do it.

This one is for Hunter, but I want everyone to give it a try.

Ani DiFranco's Live in Bremen, Germany

Every time I listen to this album, I think of you and I feel that you would totally dig it. And her. Her is a big part of it, and the song selection is great. There's a lot of intros to the songs where she's just talking to the audience and she's adorable as fuck. That coupled with the guitar really make me feel like you wouldn't regret the time spent to listen.

Best for a car ride or while relaxing with some alcohol.

I've placed it in the Music folder of the ftp so you can find it there. Get to it!

Band/Artist: Hidetake Takayama
Album: Right Time+Right Music

Hidetake Takayama is a Japanese producer that works together musicians of all kinds to make his music come to life. His songs are usually very mellow, relaxing, and tasteful. They're split about 50/50 between instrumentals and songs that have vocals, but all of them are relaxing and in good taste. He himself plays the piano for his songs while he enlists the aid of artists skilled in every instrument from the oboe to the turntable. All of the vocals are also in English.

TL;DR: Japanese producer whose music is chill as fuck.

I'll be dumping it onto the FTP shortly. Go check it out!

[Edit] Also downloading the Ani DiFracno stuffses. Don't want to fall behind!

This is pretty damn chill. I wasn't drawn to any specific song but the album was great for what I was doing. Just sitting there and listening to it while doing some minor things. The kind of thing I think I'll keep around on my personal music player for some sound.

Thanks for sharing.

This was a well put together album. I particularly enjoyed "The Tree" and "Rain won't last long, so..."

The orchestration and engineering behind the music was superb, along with the fusion of different styles of music. This guy has a lot of talent.

This was a lot of fun to listen to, not only for the music, but just listening to the performer. Her dialogue is quirky and really captures her personality. Her monologues really make this album, in my opinion.

Pardon me if this sounds a bit mainstream, but up on the FTP server there is an album I really enjoy:

Beck - Sea Change

I promise I'll post something more obscure sometime, but for now you must listen to this and assess its glorious mellowness.
